H'ART Museum Location: How to Get There by Subway and Bus

Cars, buses and taxis cannot stop in front of H’ART Museum. If you are driving, the Stadhuis/Muziektheater, Waterlooplein and Markenhoven parking garages are a short walk from the museum. If you are being dropped off by car or taxi, enter Nieuwe Keizersgracht 1 into your GPS: from the access pole at the start of the street, it is a one-minute walk to the museum entrance. Visitors with a physical disability can ring the bell at the pole to request drop-off at the entrance.

Visitors can take Amsterdam Metro Lines 51, 53, or 54 and get off at Waterlooplein Station. Use the Hortusplantsoen exit; from there, it’s a short, pleasant walk to the museum, allowing you to enjoy the Amstel and historic streets along the way.

Buses cannot reach the immediate vicinity of the museum, so the tram and metro are the most convenient public transport options. Tram 14 stops at Waterlooplein, close to the museum, and metro lines 51, 53 and 54 stop at Waterlooplein station, connecting the museum with Amsterdam Centraal and other districts.

The closest main train station is Amsterdam Centraal. From there, you can take tram 14 or metro 51, 53 or 54 to Waterlooplein, or walk to the museum through the city centre. The walking route passes through some of Amsterdam’s iconic neighborhoods, making the walk part of the experience.

Amsterdam is extremely bike-friendly, and cycling is one of the most enjoyable ways to reach the museum. There are plenty of parking spaces for bicycles near the museum; please use the public bike stands rather than the museum's fences. If you arrive by train, you can rent a public transport (OV) bicycle at Amsterdam Centraal or Amsterdam Amstel station.

If you are staying in central Amsterdam, the museum is within walking distance from popular areas like Waterlooplein, Stopera, and Rembrandtplein. Walking allows you to take in the charming canals, historic buildings, and street life, making your journey to the museum part of the experience itself.
