Toegankelijkheid op het Muiderslot

Het Muiderslot is een historisch gebouw en daardoor zijn er bepaalde uitdagingen op het gebied van toegankelijkheid. Het kasteel en zijn personeel doen er echter alles aan om het terrein zo uitnodigend mogelijk te maken voor alle bezoekers.

Kasteel Interieur: Vanwege de middeleeuwse constructie is het interieur van het kasteel, met zijn vele smalle wenteltrappen en meer dan 300 treden, niet toegankelijk voor rolstoelen. Dit geldt ook voor bezoekers met rollators, buggy's of kinderwagens.

Kasteelterrein: Het buitenterrein, inclusief de binnenplaats, tuinen en vestingmuren, is over het algemeen toegankelijk. Bezoekers in een rolstoel of met andere mobiliteitshulpmiddelen kunnen deze gebieden gratis verkennen.

Bijstand: Als je een begeleider nodig hebt, mag één persoon met een OV-begeleiderspas gratis het terrein op. Geregistreerde hulphonden zijn ook toegestaan in het hele museumcomplex.

Dingen die je moet weten voordat je het Muiderslot bezoekt

Het kasteel is in het zomerseizoen (april-oktober) dagelijks geopend van 10:00 tot 17:00 uur en in het winterseizoen (november-maart) op maandag gesloten. Een typisch bezoek duurt ongeveer 2-2,5 uur.

Bezoekerspieken zijn meestal van 12 uur 's middags tot halverwege de middag. Voor een rustigere ervaring kun je overwegen om net voor openingstijd of laat in de middag te arriveren.

Tickets zijn inclusief een gratis audiotour, met routes zoals de "Ridderroute", "Torenroute" en een "Tuinrondleiding" die beschikbaar zijn in het Engels en Nederlands.
